Mike Szklarski's Paddle

Through all the tears, Mike Szklarski fight is almost over.  He is being released from his 14 1/2 month coma to waist high, warm water and hollow waves... next Thursday, February 2, 2006 to go home to that island of warm sand and surf in the sky. Mike Szlarski, a good friend of mine and a long time member of Blackies Longboard, Newport Beach, has been in a coma for the past 14 1/2 months due to an aneurysm and no chance of recovery. Tentatively, we are planning a paddle out for Mike to take place at Blackies, the north side of the Newport Beach pier on Saturday, February 25 at 10 a.m.  The tide will be going out and about mid point then. Being a member of the surfing family/community, I thought I would send this out to the Coalition, so that you might want to take part in saying good bye for now to a good friend and fellow surfer.

May your prayers go out to Pam and family at this cross road in her life.
