Like the Surf Rider Foundation, we consider ourselves guardians of the ocean's health and well-being. The member clubs can count on the support of the entire Coalition in their individual battles against regional polluters and/or bureaucrats. Working with Surfers Tired of Pollution (STOP), we have rated our state and national politicians in terms of their environmental commitment. No officers of the Coalition are paid for their services, therefore there are no administrative costs. Representatives meet the Friday night before each of the major club tournaments. From May to November there is usually at least one event per month. We also try to coordinate tournament schedules, judging and formats, so that there is consistency from tournament to tournament. The Coalition is dedicated to promoting amateur surfers from throughout the world, and the values that make surfing a clean, healthy and spiritual activity. Each club hosts a directors meeting, and supplies the meeting place and refreshments.
